Job Description: Business Development Manager, ELCIA Cluster

Electronics City in Bengaluru is one of India’s largest Electronics industrial parks that consists of a mix of small, medium and large companies. The companies are mainly involved in IT/IT-eS, electronics hardware design and manufacturing. Established in 1978 and spread across 903 acres, many renowned companies like Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Siemens, HPE, Tata Consultancy Services, Hical, Synthesis, Momentive, Fanuc India… have set the pace in Electronics City. It adds 90% exports with an employee base of 200,000.

Electronics City Industries Association (ELCIA) started in 1992 was responsible for infrastructure development and maintenance till 2013. ELCIA took the lead in forming ELCIA Trust, ELCIA Cluster, ELCITA (Electronics City Industrial Township) and ESDC (Electronics City Skill Development Centre).

ELCIA Cluster: ELCIA Cluster Common facility centre (CFC) consists of Mechanical and Electronics divisions. Objective of ELCIA cluster is to support MSMEs in product development, pilot production, capacity augmentation and on the job training for trainees. Self-sustaining of the CFC is essential while meeting these objectives.

Job Description:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to identify and pursue existing and new business opportunities in the mechanical manufacturing industry.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients, market trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their needs and providing solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and sales, to develop customized solutions for clients.
  • Identify and evaluate potential partnerships, collaborations, and acquisitions to expand the company’s market presence.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and contracts to clients, ensuring clear communication of value propositions and benefits.
  • Monitor industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Analyse sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to develop strategies for business growth.
  • Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to build relationships and promote the company’s products and services.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or marketing in the mechanical manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical components, manufacturing processes, and industry standards
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and key stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in using CRM software, Digital marketing, and other business development tools like MS office.
  • Min 5 years of experience.
